Kirstie Alley is commenting on the recent Abercrombie & Fitch controversy, which saw comments from CEO Mike Jeffries coming to light regarding targeting only thin and “cool" customers.

The former Dancing with the Stars star said she has two kids that fit the so-called demographic that Jeffries is targeting and she is adamant they won’t shop there.

“He says...Abercrombie clothes are for people that are cool and who look a certain way and are beautiful and who are thin and blah, blah, blah,” she told Entertainment Tonight.

“He goes on and on and on. That would make me never buy anything from Abercrombie even if I was cool and thin. I got two kids in that [age] bracket that will never walk in those doors because of his view of people."

The interview Alley is referring to is from a 2006 Salon article, in which Jefferies says "In every school there are the cool and popular kids, and then there are the not-so-cool kids. Candidly, we go after the cool kids."

He also said he "doesn't want larger people shopping in his store, he wants thin and beautiful people."

However, he has since responded to the resurfacing of the interview, saying “I want to address some of my comments that have been circulating from a 2006 interview. While I believe this 7 year old, resurrected quote has been taken out of context, I sincerely regret that my choice of words was interpreted in a manner that has caused offense.”
