Larry King is not spending his retirement from CNN quietly. The veteran talk show host has signed on to take on politics for Russia’s news network RT.
The network announced that the show will feature interviews with established American politicians along with those who disagree with the status quo. According to Variety, Politics with Larry King will premiere in June and will be produced by Ora TV. King’s Hulu series Larry King Now will also air on the network. While Hulu will continue to carry Larry King Now, Politics will air exclusively on RT America in the U.S.
King will record the episodes on Los Angeles and Washington, DC. RT editor-in-chief Margarita Simonyan promised that King will still be interested in covering controversial subjects.
“Whether a president or an activist or a rock star was sitting across from him, Larry King never shied away from asking the tough questions, which makes him a terrific fit for our network,” Simonyan said.
King added, “I have always been passionate about government and issues that impact the public, and I’m thrilled at the opportunity to talk politics with some of the most influential people in Washington and around the country.”
King, who retired from CNN in 2010, previously moderated a third-party presidential debate for RT.
