Leann Rimes opened up about the issues in her personal life in a new interview with People, revealing why she sought help for depression and anxiety around her 30th birthday.

The country singer, who went through a lot of scrutiny for the affair she had with her now-husband Eddie Cibrian, said she had been dealing with a lot of issues before seeking treatment.

"I had been crying all day, staying in bed," she told People. "I've had all eyes on me since I was 13, so there was a lot to sift through. I started dealing with emotions I had ignored.”

She also said she needed to find herself, having always relied on someone else. "I was afraid to be in the world alone. There was always someone around—my parents, Dean[Sheremet, her ex-husband], my bandmates, Eddie,” she said. “I wanted to take care of myself.”

Rimes, 30, does admit "I made some really bad choices. I caused hurt.” She says she has "grown up a lot in the last five years. I thought my life was falling apart, but now everything is good,” E! Online notes.

The Spitfire singer also said about the possibility of having kids, "We have a lot on our plates. But whenever I talk about kids, I'm like, 'Let's have one!' I have a lot of work to do now but I'm totally ready if it happens."

She added, “a surrogate is something I've thought about. Eddie and I have also talked about adopting.”
