Lindsay Lohan has walked in and out of rehab. Thursday afternoon the rehab-bound star was seen at the grounds of Morningside Recovery in California, but never actually went in. She was leaving the facilities grounds shortly thereafter.
A source tells Us Weekly, “She felt Morningside was not suitable for her. There were too many paparazzi everywhere and she didn't feel safe. Nobody close to her is happy about this. They think she's really not being smart."
Lohan was originally slated to enter a court-approved rehab facility in New York, but opted for treatment in California instead.
“As of now, she is not in compliance with what the court was going to allow her to do,” the source explains.
New York Daily News reports that Lohan threatened to fly from LAX to NYC, but was talked down by her father Michael by threat of arrest.
“The DA called me to get in touch with Lindsay, who was headed to get on a flight to New York,” Michael told The News. “I stopped her from getting on and told her she’d be arrested in New York.”
Santa Monica City Attorney Terry White explains, “If she's not in Morningside, she’s in violation of her probation. One of the issues we have is that her attorney said this morning that she was already there.”
Us Weekly notes that Morningside is not a court approved rehab facility. In 2012 the center had its license revoked and cannot legally provide treatment. White argued in court this morning that there are several article condemning the facility, noting its inability to provide the proper treatment for the Scary Movie 5 actress.
Lohan previously expressed a positive attitude toward rehab calling it a “blessing” not “a curse.”
