In the partners' meeting, everyone is brainstorming on how to advertise for premium margarine.
Pete feels like he is in a career crisis, and he looks to both Joan and Bob Benson for help. One of Pete's old friends advises Pete that the best way to get his career in order is to start focusing on his family.
It turns out Benson is spending a lot more time outside of the office with Joan. Roger pays a visit to Joan's house with a gift and finds Bob there, but doesn't even realize he's someone from the office.
Not a lot is focused on what goes on in the office but rather the weekend that the staff finally decides to take off.
For Betty, the weekend begins at a political fundraiser for Henry, and some of the good ol' boys are starting to hit on her. She's been working hard on improving those looks.
Peggy is having issues at her new apartment on a bad side of town. While she was away, her boyfriend get assaulted by a robber and gets stabbed in the arm. Since it was her choice to move into the neighborhood in the first place, he chastises her.
In the office, Ted Chaough catches Peggy grabbing his hand during a presentation, so he tells her that it's out of place. This prompts the two to have a talk about their kiss a few weeks back and it's here that Ted admits that he's fallen in love with his protege.
Don has a weekend set aside which he's going to take his son Bobby to camp. He and Betty meet up somewhere in between and Don seems enthusiastic about showing interest in Bobby.
Betty is really digging it out of Don, and the two get close outside of the place they're staying overnight.
Don goes straight for it and seduces her. He says she looks just as good as the first day he met met her.
While the two are in bed, Betty says that as good as she feels when they're together, every good feeling always fades between her and Don.
Meanwhile back in the city, Megan is at the apartment with one of her friends from the TV industry. She's the wife of her show's current producer. When Megan talks to her about problems in life and marriage, the guest goes in for a kiss, which Megan quickly rejects. She's always careful stepping away from temptation.
While Peggy is trying to sleep in her apartment, she hears some kind of fight going on outside of her window, so she wields a bayonet. When her boyfriend Abe asks her what's going on in the dark, she stabs him by accident. On the way to the hospital he breaks up with her.
Peggy goes to Ted and tells him about her breakup as if she was expecting some kind of reaction. The two have strong feelings that work is getting in the way of.
We are left with the start of work on Monday, and it's "full speed ahead" on Fleischmann's Margarine.
