Oscar winning actress Melissa Leo has signed on to co-star in Wayward Pines, the event series in development for Fox from director M. Night Shyamalan.

The limited series was officially green-lit earlier this month during Fox’s upfront presentation. It will also star Matt Dillon and is part of Fox’s plan for more limited-run series. The network has laos planned a 10-episode reboot of 24 with Kiefer Sutherland signed to return.

Wayward Pines is based on the Blake Crouch novel Pines and is a crime thriller. Damon plays a Secret Service agent sent to an Indiana town to look into the disappearance of two other agents, but he only finds more questions than answers. Deadline reports that Leo has been cast as a nurse who at first takes care of Dillon. But soon the nurse turns out not to be what she seems and her role in the town is bigger than just a nurse at the hospital.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Wayward Pines was written by Chad Hodge (The Playboy Club) and will executive produce with Shyamalan, Donald De Line and Ashwin Rajan. The series will run for 10 episodes and is set to air in fall 2014.

Leo won an Oscar for her supporting role in 2010’s The Fighter and recently starred on HBO’s Treme, which is wrapping its fourth and last season.
