Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth call it quits after four years of dating and almost a year of engagement.
Hemsworth proposed to Cyrus, who he met on the set of The Last Song in 2009 with a 3.5 carat Neil Lane diamond June of last year. The pop star has fueled break up rumors for the past few weeks by refraining to wear her engagement ring. A source close to the couple told Us Magazine that the “Ashtrays and Heartbreaks” singer will no longer be donning the sparkler saying, “They are definitely over."
This news comes after reports that Cyrus her Australian beau were publicly showing affection at a party at the former Disney star’s home. The bash was in celebration of her crowning as No. 1 on Maxim Hot 100 list.
Cyrus has been busy promoting her new single, “We Can’t Stop,” which drops on June 3. She and Hemsworth have lead separate lives while the actor spent time in Australia with his family. A source tells Hollywood Life that this separation lead to a lack of passion in their relationship, and Cyrus’ antics became a major turn-off for Hemsworth, which culminated with the 20-year-old singer’s recent makeover.
“He used to be obsessed with the way she would go wild,” the source explains. “But it got more childish to him. He’s growing up — and fast. At first they were yin and yang, balancing each other out. But they got more and more out of sync.”
Neither Cyrus nor Hemsworth have commented. Cyrus’ Twitter feed has centered on the release of her new music.
