The feud is back on! American Idol judges Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj are at it again just months after claiming they’ve buried the hatchet. Thursday afternoon the “Starship” singer took to Twitter to slam Carey calling her a “insecure” and “bitter.”
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the insults began after Wednesday’s episode of American Idol where Carey was critiquing Angie Miler. Minaj interrupted Carey to add her own opinions to the performance to which Carey responded by slamming the 30-year-old singer for never having a number one hit on the Billboard Hot 100.
Minaj responded by getting a Q-tip out of her makeup bag and telling Carey to clean her ears out.
Thursday, Minaj took to Twitter where she wrote, “All dem #1s but JLo phone ringin? Lol. I guess having a personality, being a secure woman, and giving genuine critique still trumps that.”
Minaj’s tweet references recent reports that Fox reps were reaching out to former AI judge Jennifer Lopez in the hopes of replacing Carey. However, the reports also suggested that Fox would be replacing Minaj as well.
The “Super Bass” singer followed with dig at Carey writing, “What u SHOULD be doing (wit your messy ass) is asking why a woman SO successful at her age, is still so INSECURE, and bitter.”
