I have to admit that my inner princess came out when I heard that Prince Harry was visiting the Jersey shore and since I was only an hour away, I kick myself for not leaving class to see my future husband, but I digress.
Prince Harry came down to see the damage that Hurricane Sandy caused at the Jersey shore as well as how the shore is moving towards being open over the summer, according to NJ.com, He was able to meet with the Governor Chris Christie while being followed down the boardwalk by security guards and eager young girls. He was welcomed with open arms and welcoming signs.
It was in the background of his visit, that the Death Star was being fully taken out of the water where it had been resting since the super storm.
According to CBS News, “In both Seaside Heights and Mantoloking 10 miles north, his first stop, the prince shook hands with police, fire and other emergency personnel. Harry also greeted construction workers who have been working on rebuilding Seaside Heights' famous boardwalk, now about two-thirds complete.”
The prince showed concern and remorse for the lost homes and disabled families that were due to the storm.
