A museum dedicated to the memory of Princess Diana based in her ancestral home Althorp is being closed. The belongings that were on display will be given to her sons, Princes William and Harry.
According to The Telegraph, her youngest brother, Charles Earl Spencer, will close the museum in 2014. A rep said that the exhibition, which toured the world as Diana: A Celebration, “will close worldwide in August 2014.”
Spencer was left the items to be “looked after” before William and Harry turn 30. While William is 30, Harry doesn’t turn 30 until next year, reports The Los Angeles Times. At that point, they will receive the collection, which includes 28 dresses, two tiaras, jewelry and personal items like letters and home movies.
USA Today notes that there has been speculation in the U.K. that Diana’s belongings might go on display at Kensington Palace, which was where Diana lived before her tragic death in 1997. It is currently being renovated before William and his wife, Catherine the Duchess of Cambridge, moves in this fall after their baby is born.
