Singer Rihanna is adding a male fragrance to her business ventures. After releasing her female fragrance "Reb'l Fleur" with Parlux Fragrances in 2011, she is now collaborating with the company again to release a male fragrance called "Rouge".
There is a document published by Trademarkia stating that Parlux Fragrances filed a US trademark registration for "Rouge" by Rihanna, describing it as "fragrances for men". The fragrance will also be in the form of deodorant, lotion, soap, and shower jell.
According to Huffington Post, Rihanna has described the fragrance in a past interview with Access Hollywood, “I am making my own male fragrance. I want dudes to smell like [when] you wake up, you know that smell… their cologne is a little bit old… you spray it on their jackets and take it with you just to keep them there, that it smells cozy and it smells sexy.”
The precessor fragrance,"Reb'l Fleur," was a commercial success. It grossed $80 million by the end of 2011. Will "Rouge" be as successful gaging that her audience is primarily female?
