Seth MacFarlane made it clear after he hosted last year’s Academy Awards that he wouldn’t do it again. But while speculation has risen again about who will do it for next year, the Family Guy creator has taken to Twitter to say he definitely won’t be hosting for a second time.
When producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron were asked to come back for next year, they approached MacFarlane to host again last month. MacFarlane confirmed that he did try to work something out with them, but it ultimately didn’t fit into his schedule.
"Traumatized critics exhale: I'm unable to do the Oscars again. Tried to make it work schedule-wise, but I need sleep," he wrote, USA Today reports.
He went on to say, "I highly recommend the job, as Zadan and Meron are two of the most talented producers in the business.”
In February when a Twitter user asked him if he would do it again, he replied “No way. Lotta fun to have done it, though.”
MacFarlane ended the post with his recommendation of who should host, “My suggestion for host isJoaquin Phoenix,” he wrote.
