Snooki: Chris Christie “just doesn’t like us”

In a somewhat awkward encounter, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie met Jersey Shore’s infamous Snooki, accompanied by costars JWoww and Deena Cortese.

The reality TV stars met with Christie after filming separate segments for the Today show, according to NY Daily News.

They exchanged the necessary friendly greetings and Deena praised the governor for his handling of the Hurricane Sandy aftermath, according to USA Today.

Christie went on record about his dislike for MTV’s Jersey Shore in 2010, saying that it was “negative for New Jersey.”

Snooki then went on to say, “I just wanted to meet you, and just, hope you start to like us.”

Christie responded, “Well, we’ll do our best.” The encounter ended only seconds later, with Christie awkwardly smiling and saying, “Good to meet you.”

Snooki flatly responded, “Thanks,” then turned away to roll her eyes.

After the meeting, Snooki appears displeased, glumly saying, “He just doesn’t like us.”

Snooki later posted a picture of the encounter on Instagram with the caption, “Getting told why we are bad for Jersey. Amazing.”
