In the latest episode of Survivor everyone begins to see each other for who they really are. Back at camp, Eddie thinks he will be the next to go. Dawn and Brenda immediately talk strategy and toss around the idea of Cochran going home if Eddie wins immunity.
On the other side of camp, Erik isn’t content. He says day 36 is one of his hardest days. Desperate for food, he hatches a plan to retrieve coconuts from a high tree but returns empty handed. Moments later two Survivors return with tree mail. It’s a Sprint phone with video messages from their family. They all watch through smiles and tears as they await their next challenge.
At the reward challenge, the Survivors are reunited with loved ones. Jeff then announces that their loved ones will be completing the challenge with them.
Jeff tells the Survivors that they must spin in circles to unscrew three rails and then place them on posts. Once complete, they must work to untie knots that secure balls and then toss the balls on the planks. First pair to hook all balls on the rails wins immunity which is a floating backyard BBQ.
At the start of the challenge, Erik and his brother fly through unscrewing their first rail followed by Brenda and her dad. Brenda and her dad, Dawn and her husband and Sherri and her husband gain momentum while Cochran and his mom fall further behind. In the end, Brenda and her father win the challenge.
When asked by Jeff to choose a player to enjoy reward with, Brenda chooses Dawn. Jeff then drops a second bomb. The Survivors have a second loved ones on the island.
Brenda is then asked to choose between giving up her and Dawn’s loved one and the BBQ so the other four can enjoy time with their loved ones while eating. Brenda eventually decides to give the other four reward. As Brenda and Dawn say good bye to their loved one, the other four prepare for a feast.
While the four enjoy their afternoon on the floating BBQ, Dawn breaks down back at camp as she watches the others enjoy their afternoon. Brenda admits she gave up reward in hopes of gaining favor from her tribe mates but hopes her choice was the right one.
At the immunity challenge, the Survivors must stand on ledge over water holding a handle behind their back. As the wheel spins it will drop them an inch closer to the water. Once the pain becomes too much for a player to bear, they will start to drop. The last player standing wins immunity.
Instantly Cochran begins to struggle and falls into the water. When asked by Jeff if there is competition between him and Cochran to see who will fall first, Eddie says no, if he falls he will go home.
The survivors are lowered again and Eddie starts to struggle badly. He eventually falls followed by Erik. Sherri also struggles and falls in. Only Dawn and Brenda are left to battle it out for immunity. Dawn tries to strike a deal with Brenda but Brenda refuses. Minutes later Brenda falls into the water. Dawn wins immunity.
Back at camp, Brenda says the plan is to vote Eddie out first and then vote out Cochran next. Cochran wants Brenda to go next but realizes it will be a hard sell to Sherri and Dawn since they really want Eddie to go home. He decides to talk to them anyway.
Sherri agrees with Cochran’s plan to blindside Brenda. Cochran goes to Dawn and she says that she wants to play her own game. She states that the last time she followed Cochran’s game she went home before him and she doesn’t want that to happen this time. She does acknowledge that Brenda is a stron competitor and considers voting her out.
At tribal council, Jeff comments on Dawn wearing the immunity necklace. She says for once in the game she can finally breathe. Brenda says that she was okay losing to Dawn because it’s Dawn. Jeff talks about the loved ones challenge. Brenda says that the decision to give up rewards was a no brainer even though it was hard. Dawn says Brenda’s decision will help her in the long term and Sherri agrees. Eddie tells Jeff that he believes that this is his last tribal council but Jeff says anything can happen.
The Survivors go and vote. Jeff reads the vote: Two votes for Eddie, one vote for Erik, and three votes for Brenda. Brenda is voted out and she cries hysterically as she exits the island.
