Taylor Swift sat down with Billboard after winning big at the Billboard Music Awards last week and opened up about her relationship with her fans and not giving advice.
Swift won big at the Billboard Music Awards, taking home 8 awards, the most of any artist that evening. In an interview with Billboard Swift said that though winning wasn’t too shabby, her favorite moment of the evening came immediately after her performance.
“We were all standing together and got to look out into a crowd that was giving us a standing ovation,” Swift said of the “breathless” moment she took on stage alongside her 15 “beaming” dancers. “It was a wonderful feeling.”
Swift received the night’s top honor, top artist, and thanked her 3.7 millions fan who purchased her latest album, “Red.”
“I loved being able to thank my fans for this life they've given me,” Swift gushed. “I have so many girls my age coming up to me and saying, ‘I've listened to you for seven years.’ It's crazy to me that we've been in each other's lives that long and it still feels new. But hey, I guess that's what real love feels like.”
Though Swift has enjoyed a very successful career to date, she says she doesn’t really have any advice for younger artists, specifically, friends Selena Gomez and Disney starlet Ariana Grande.
“I never give advice unless someone asks me for it," Swift said, as reported by AOL News .
The “22” singer went on to say, “One thing I've learned, and possibly the only advice I have to give, is to not be that person giving out unsolicited advice based on your own personal experience. I've always had a lot of older people giving me advice because I'm young, and in the end, it all comes down to who you want to be remembered as. Just be that."
