The Bachelorette is back, America! This time, America’s Sweetheart, Desiree Hartsock, has come fresh out of Sean Lowe’s season and is putting herself out there in order to find her one true love. The much-anticipated season has taken off on a high note, as many fans appear to have taken over Twitter and are rooting for Desiree. Audiences across the US tuned in Memorial Day to see the season unfold and to start following Desiree on her journey to find her prince charming.
The premiere started off with a throwback of Desiree on Sean Lowe’s season, which just ended a few months ago. The show quickly moved on to her sitting down with the host, Chris Harrison, and speaking out about her upcoming journey—how she feels and what she hopes for. “I feel like Cinderella in the flesh,” Desiree said. The humble star is remembered for sharing her background on how she was raised. Her parents didn’t have a lot of money. She shared on Sean Lowe’s season that at one point in her life, she even lived with them in a tent. She feels truly grateful and blessed having been given a Bentley and a huge mansion to start off her season.
When it came time for the guys to introduce themselves. Many of them had ladies swooning, while some of them had ladies wondering: “What goes on…”
Host, Chris Harrison, extended the offer to Desiree to pass out roses during the night whenever she pleased. She took advantage of this opportunity many times.
From Army man, Bryden, Mike R, doctor and self-proclaimed “McSteamy,” to Magician, Nick R, Desiree had a lot to choose from. Guys who stand out so far this season are 30-year-old Robert, an advertising entrepreneur; Ben, 26, a painting contractor; Drew, 27, a digital marketing analyst, 28-year-old Brooks, in sales and marketing; and Ben, also 28, an entrepreneur from Texas.
Ben raises an eyebrow. He tried to make quite an impression by bringing his adorable son, Brody, to see Desiree. Even though it “melted her heart,” it all seemed a little fishy. He admitted he had his son with his ‘best friend,’ and still ended up getting the first rose of the night during a conversation with Desiree.
The night had its ups and downs when Johnathan, 26, made a bold move more than once and tried to get Desiree into the Fantasy Suite with him. Desiree felt weirded out, as probably any girl would be, so she immediately sent him home. Which begs the question, where do the producers find these guys?
Zak W made a more appropriate bold move, when he introduced his abs to Desiree right away, undressed, and made a splash into the pool.
Larry, a 34-year-old ER doctor, from Kansas was trying too hard to make an impression on Desiree. Coming straight out of the limo, he tried to impress her with his dance skills but instead got her dress caught. She got stuck while he was trying to turn her. He tried to redeem himself later in the night, but as things got more awkward, Desiree sent him home during the rose ceremony. Nick R, a magician and tailor, also tried to impress Des’ with his amazing magic tricks, but there was no ‘magic’ between them and she sent him packing as well, along with Diogo, a 29-year-old Marketing manager from Brazil, who showed up in a knight’s armor.
The premiere episode didn’t fail to entertain fans, and with the remaining previews left for the rest of the season, it has many audiences eager to tune in. Watching the season preview, fans saw a lot of drama, tears, and confrontations unfold between the contestants, and most important, love flying in the air.
