TNT and TBS announced plans to become the first national networks to give viewers a chance to watch the network 24/7 on their mobile devices.

During their upfront presentation in New York today, the Turner-owned networks said that the Watch TBS and Watch TNT apps will launch during the summer when the new seasons of their hit shows debut alongside newcomers. This means that fans of TNT’s Rizzoli & Isles, Perception and Franklin & Bash will get to watch their shows wherever they go.

The TNT app will also include live streaming of NBA coverage, while the TBS app will include its MLB programming.

This news comes days after ABC announced its plans for Watch ABC, which will launch in New York and Philadelphia. That app will be the first from one of the broadcast networks and will launch in markets as ABC secures deals with local affiliate owners. ABC did reach a deal with Hearst TV first.

TBS and TNT also confirmed a full slate of new shows in development.

In addition to the return of Rizzoli & Isles, Perception and Franklin & Bash, Falling Skies and Major Crimes will also be back this summer. The new Rebecca Romijn-starring King & Maxwell, Dwayne Johnson’s The Hero competition, 72 Hours and Cold Justice will premiere in the summer.

Frank Darabont’s Lost Angels will premiere later in 2013, along with S.O.B. (Save Our Business), Marshal Law: Texas, Michael Bay’s The Last Ship, Legends, Nashville Confidential, Inside Job and Life Flight.

TBS also has a cluster of returning shows - Sullivan & Son, Men at Work, Cougar Town and King of the Nerds. The network’s new shows are Deon Cole’s Black Box, Deal With It, Bam’s Bad Ass Game Show and Trust Me I’m A Game Show Host.
