Choreographer Wade Robson filed legal documents this week, asking for money from the Michael Jackson estate because he claims he was sexually molested by the late King of Pop. The tabloids are coming out with more reports on what lead to Robson’s decision, which came as a surprise since Robson had previously defended Jackson.

As we previously reported, Robson befriended Jackson when he was just 5-years-old and he often had sleepovers with Jackson between the ages of 7 and 14. Robson had denied any claim that he was molested by Jackson at the “Thriller” singer’s 2005 molestation trial, although a former housekeeper recalled seeing the two shower together. In 2009, when Jackson died, Robson had nothing but good things to say about him.

The timing of Robson’s claim is curious, since the Jackson family is currently embroiled in a legal battle with concert promoter AEG. Susan Yu, a lawyer for Robson, told RadarOnline that they have had no contact with AEG. “Mr. Robson has had NO contact whatsoever with AEG whatsoever regarding their case. It’s false and untrue that AEG had any contact with Mr. Robson before his claim was filed,” Yu said.

AEG also told Radar that they have no plans to call Robson to the stand during the trial, which continued this week. Katherine Jackson is suing AEG For $40 billion, claiming that they were negligent by hiring Conrad Murray as Jackson’s personal doctor.

So, why is Robson coming forward now? His attorney told Perez Hilton, that he “collapsed under the stress and sexual trauma of what had happened to him for seven years as a child. He [Wade] lived with the brain washing by a sexual predator until the burden of it all crushed him.”

Sources for TMZ say that Robson’s anxiety dates back to 2010 and it reached a boiling point in March 2011. Robson has since been unable to work and even went to a psychotherapist. After Robson told his family, he said that he planned to sue the Jackson estate, TMZ’s sources say.

Of course, the Jackson estate has slammed this claim as “outrageous and pathetic.”
