This week’s Wipeout is going to be duos, like last week, although this time, the duos are boss and employees. However, once they get to the Wipeout Zone, all bets are off—the $50,000 dollar prize only goes to one winner, either a boss or an employee.
Henson spends a bit of time trying to work as a sign spinner, but finds its harder than one would expect.
First comes the qualifier, which starts with Cuckoo Clock, followed by a corporate retreat at Tropic Blunder, then the Big Balls, the Tongue Twister, and finally the Break Room. The top six teams move on to the next round.
The first team is children’s entertainers Eric Welch, boss, and Billy Minogue, employee, who are extremely excited to be here. Billy quickly gets knocked off the Cuckoo Clock, as does his boss, Eric. Both also get knocked off the Tropic Blunder, and Billy takes a quick fall off the big balls. Up next is the Tongue Twister, and then the Break Room, which looks like an extremely painful obstacle, as both men get knocked around a lot, before falling off at the end. They finish with a time of 8:16.2.
Barbers Carla Rios and Bill McAstro find themselves having some trouble on the Tongue Twister, as Carla seems to very much not want to continue. After a lot of cursing, she makes it to the next platform, only to be knocked back off into the water.
Up next are “yoga warriors,” Sherry Pederson and Kelly Quinn, who actually work for a yoga apparel company. Sherry takes a quick fall off the Tongue Twister, while employee Kelly falls off the Break Room.
Next up are Trumspy’s Tips for Yuge Business Success, mixed in with some nice wipeouts: (1) Keep your friends close and your employees closer. (2) Throw yourself into every task. (3) Make up a nonsense catch phrase. (4) Have beautiful lustrous hair.
Now, insurance agents Jimmy McGann and Jessica Lawson take their turn. They have a cute strategy where they try to cross the obstacles together, which actually succeeds in getting them across the Tropic Blunder without falling.
After the commercial break, lifeguards Carlos Perez and Ray Gonzalez are ready to go. Ray gets knocked off of the Cuckoo Clock, as does his boss Carlos. The hosts call their run, “Ballwatch.”
Crime scene investigators Christie Fish and Danielle Bigland are up next. Christie struggles on the Break Room, while boss Danielle cheers her on.
Next up are Brian and Ben Beckman, a father-son pizza delivery duo. Brian falls off the big ball, while son Ben does well on the Tongue Twister before getting knocked off.
The last team is head pastor Jesse Ruby and his youth pastor Nic Ferguson. Jesse gets knocked off at the end of the Break Room, but they both make it to the finish with an impressive time of 5:51.8.
The top six teams are “Kidiots” Eric Welch and Billy Minogue, “Yoga Posers” Kelly Quinn and Sherry Pederson, “Boss Lady and Boy Toy” Jessica Lawson and Jimmy McGann, “Lousy Lifeguards” Carlos Perez and Ray Gonzalez, “Pizza Familia” Brian and Ben Beckman, and “Reved Up Reverends” Jesse Ruby and Nic Ferguson.
The next round is the Miami Pound Machine. The round starts with the contestants jumping onto a spinning platform and making their way to the other side, making sure to avoid the sweeper bars. Once both the boss and employee make it to the other side, their team moves on.
The first two to jump on fall off immediately, while Brian makes it to the end only to be knocked off the finish platform. Nic gets knocked off, as does Billy. Sherry takes a flip off the spinner arms, while Ray becomes the first to make it across. Jimmy and Jessica both jump on, but Jessica falls off pretty quickly. Jimmy makes it through. At tthis point, there are five people on the obstacle, all walking around in a circle, before Nic falls off. Jessica jumps on and makes it to the center. Ben takes a run for the exit but falls off. Eric makes it to the end.
Jesse finishes, although “Kidiot” boss Eric is disappointed because he thought it was his partner, Billy. Jessica makes it across, making the “Boss Lady and Boy Toy,” Jessica Lawson and Jimmy McGann, the first team to make it across.
The “Kidiots” become the second team to make it through, as Billy finishes.
Carlos jumps on, but is knocked off by the finish platform. Both the “yoga posers” jump on at once, and Sherry finishes. Ben jumps on and makes it to the finish platform. Kelly falls off again, while Carlos makes it to the finish platform, making the “Lousy Lifeguards,” the third complete team.
Every team is represented, and the next one to make it to the end is the winner. Kelly falls off again, as does Nic. “Pizza familia” Brian and Ben Beckman become the last to make it to the finish.
The next round is Wipeout City. First, the teams cross the Bridge Over Troubled Waters, where they have to avoid the IT guys, who are throwing pillows and shooting apple juice. Then, they grab a rotating handle, swing around some rotating arms, and land on the Helipad. Finally, they bounce over the water mane, and then drop through the manhole cover to the finish.
Jimmy pushes through first over the bridge, until Eric cuts in front of him. Everyone else has trouble on the bridge. Eric falls off the swinging handles, but Jimmy makes it to the end, only to stop to try to help partner Jessica.
Everyone else is still struggling on the bridge. Billy makes it across the rotating handles, but boss Eric struggles. Billy becomes the first to make it to the finish, and Jimmy leaves behind Jessica to try to make it to the end, only to fail. Eric makes it past the rotating handles, as does Jessica. Carlos and Ray are having trouble, but finally Ray makes it to the rotating handles, where Brian meets him. Eric falls off the water main, but Jimmy makes it to the finish. Jessica, Eric, and Ray all find themselves by the manhole at the same time. Eric goes first, but fails to make it through the manhole. Ray makes it through, but is still waiting for boss Carlos, who is struggling.
Jessica works to get to the manhole, but falls down. Carlos makes it to the manhole, as does Eric. Carlos finishes, making the “Lousy Lifeguards” the first to go to the Wipeout Zone. Eric falls through the manhole, and the “Kidiots” move on.
In the Wipeout Zone, it’s everyone for themselves, as bosses and employees fight against each other to win the single $50,000 prize.
This week’s Wipeout Zone starts with an upright launch from the Slingshot. Then, contestants go through the Throtisserie, and then on to the Dark Side of the Moon, and finally Twisted Falls.
First up is “Kidiot” boss Eric. Eric makes it past the Slingshot to the Throtisserie, where he does well and makes it through on the first try. He makes it around the edge of Dark Side of the Moon, up the ladder, and times the blind slide to the finish platform almost correct—he misses, but barely, and makes it on the second try. He moves onto Twisted Falls, and makes it past the first platform. He falls off the second, but gets back up quickly. He makes it past the first trampoline again, and then on to the finish. He finishes with a time of 9:37.74.
“Kidiot” employee Billy is up next. He also makes it through Throtisserie on the first try, and then goes on to Dark Side of the Moon. He also fails on his first attempt to make it to the platform, but makes it on the second. He fails on the first platform of the Twisted Falls. On his second try, he makes it past the first platform, but falls off the second, meaning that he fails to beat his boss’ time.
“Lousy Lifeguard” employee Ray is up next. Ray makes it across the Throtisserie and to the Dark Side of the Moon with an impressive time of under two minutes. He fails to make it to the platform on the first try, but gets through on the second. He falls off the first platform on Twisted Falls, but makes it to the finish on his second try, making a new time to beat of 7:53.61.
“Lousy Lifeguard” boss Carlos gets ready to go. He becomes the first contestant to fall off Throtisserie, but makes it through on the second try. He makes it through Dark Side of the Moon on his first try, giving him two minutes to complete the Zone and beat employee Ray. He falls off the Falls on his first try, and even though he makes it through on the second, he loses by three seconds, making his employee Ray the winner of Boss and Employee Wipeout.
