A woman who wore the MAC lipstick endorsed by Rihanna, RiRi Woo, has filed a lawsuit claiming she contracted herpes from it at a concert by the “Diamonds” singer at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center.
Starkeema Greenidge says in the lawsuit that a rep for MAC gave her a sample of the lipstick and applied it to Greenidge’s top lip for her, telling her to spread it around.
According to TMZ, the same lipstick was used for others at the concert, and someone who the rep previously put it on must have had the virus.
“My whole lip was irritated and hugely swollen,” Greenidge said about the day after the concert.
Greenidge is not suing Rihanna herself for contracting herpes, she’s suing M.A.C. Cosmetics, Inc for poor business practices. She says they should have used disposable swabs to apply the lipstick to concert-goers instead of using the same tube of lipstick on multiple people.
Hollywood Gossip reports that Greenidge is suing for unspecified damages.
