Executive producer Howard Gordon is busy getting the 24 team back together for 24: Live Another Day, Fox’s limited series revival of the acclaimed series that stars Kiefer Sutherland. The latest hire is Jon Cassar who directed and produced episodes throughout the show’s original run.

According to Deadline, Cassar will direct several episodes of Live Another Day, including the first and second shows. Cassar directed 59 episodes from season two to season seven, along with the made-for-TV movie 24: Redemption. He won two Emmys and a Director’s Guild Award.

The Hollywood Reporter notes that Cassar also directed an episode of Sutherland’s Touch, which was cancelled by Fox after the 2013-2014 season.

“I'm very happy to be renewing my relationship with the 20th Century Fox TV and Imagine family and am excited to call 'action!' again on the set of the resurrected 24,” Cassar said in a statement. “Considering I was not involved in season eight, this new 24 event series gives me the chance for closure on a show that is very important to me.”

Cassar’s other credits include Fringe, Terra Nova, Revolution and The Kennedys.

Fox finally greenlit the 24 mini-series in May and it will only include 12 episodes. It’s set to start in May 2014.
