The San Diego Comic-Con is about far more than just comic books, science fiction and fantasy now, with just about every major Hollywood property going, even if it doesn’t fit those categories. 20th Century Fox TV said today that, for the first time, the cast of How I Met Your Mother will be there this year to promote the show’s final season.
HIMYM officially got a ninth and final season in January and the season finale last month revealed the mother for the first time. Creators Carter Bays and Craig Thomas had said that the ninth season will be a little different from the rest of the show, since we’ll finally get to Ted actually meeting the mother. According to The Hollywood Reporter, both will be at the Comic-Con panel to discuss their plans.
The entire main cast will also be attending, including Josh Radnor, Cobie Smulders, Jason Segel, Neil Patrick Harris and Alyson Hannigan. Co-executive producer Pamela Fryman will also be there.
Entertainment Weekly reports that HIMYM is only one of 11 Fox TV shows that will be discussed at the convention. The creators behind Futurama will chat about the last season, while freshman shows Sleepy Hollow and Murder Police will also have panels.
The other shows being represented at the convention are Bones, Sons of Anarchy, The Simpsons, American Dad, Family Guy, Brickberry and Bob’s Burgers.
Comic-Con runs from July 18-21.
