ABC Family’s hit drama Pretty Little Liars is keeping the viewers at the edge of their seats as it continues its fourth season airing the second episode “Turn of the Shoe” on Tuesday June 18. With ‘A’ on the loose and not holding back it seems like everyone in Rosewood cannot be trusted.

The episode starts with the girls questioning how Hanna’s mom’s phone ended up in WIlden’s casket? The girls are starting to come to their senses and realize that Mona isn’t someone they can completely trust. The girls ask Mona to take them to her RV that has all their secrets. Conveniently Mona’s lair is missing. Mona gets in her car and is attacked and strangled by a masked person but gets away. The person stays in the car and almost hits Emily, Aria, and Mona. Emily pushes them out of the way and lands on rocks and ends up bruising her arm.

The theme of college is presented in the episode. Spencer receives her rejection letter from the University of Pennsylvania. Spencer has a meltdown because she wasn’t accepted into her dream school. She confides in Mr. Fitz and he tells her he will help with her admission essay for other colleges. Spencer writes about her late friend Alison’s death, being bullied at school, and being admitted into Radley. Mr. Fitz tells Spencer not to submit the paper because it will make colleges question her mental stability and not look at her other qualities.

Emily is trying to get a scholarship at Stanford so she can leave Rosewood behind. She wants to follow Paige to Stanford and live her life in peace for once. With her injury she is worried she won’t be able to swim at her full potential. With all the drama and pain Shanna comes and tries to intimidate Emily. Emily takes painkillers before the meet and loses count and swims into the wall cutting her head. Once she has regained her strength she is forced to tell Paige the truth about her injury.

Aria moves on quickly as she takes martial arts classes. She kisses her instructor; once again Aria goes for her teacher. Hanna has suspicion about her mom since her mom had her stiletto heels under the sink that were completely dirty and muddy. It makes you question if she was there when Wilden was murdered?

Toby goes back to keeping secrets and acting suspicious. You can’t be too sure if we can trust Toby. Toby questions if his mother was suicidal or if someone made it seem that way. Toby tells Spencer he is the one that moved the Mona’s RV for the information he received from Radley about his mother. It makes you wonder was Toby the one who strangled Mona? Why is Toby still working for ‘A’? Seems like secrets are still in effect.

The show takes a more morbid approach as we discover the parrot Mrs. DiLaurentis (Alison’s Mom) spent time with Alison when she spent time in Georgia with her grandmother. Mrs. DiLaurentis seems to always pick on Hanna or say a rude comment, its as if Alison’s spirit still lives. Mrs. DiLaurentis has a flashback about Alison and how she always got her way by manipulation. She reveals she figured Alison was up to something with an older crowd since she found beer cans.

The parrot sounds like Alison and constantly sings a musical tune. Spencer pieces it together and thinks it’s a number Alison would call constantly. At the end of the episode the parrot goes missing and ‘A’ is attempting to feed the parrot a piece of chicken. This is only the beginning of the torturous schemes ‘A’ has planned for the girls. Tune in next Tuesday at 8p.m. on ABC Family.
