On Saturday afternoon, June 1st, 2013, American Idol stars Ace young and Diana DeGarmo tied the knot in front of 250 guests. The ceremony was held at the Luxe Sunset Boulevard Hotel in Los Angeles. The couple got engaged almost a year to date, when Young proposed very publicly on the American Idol season 11 finale.
According to Yahoo! News , Young and DeGarmo planned their wedding together and made particular effort to add personalized touches to the ceremony, including Young’s attire! He wore a “custom-made box suit” with a crest made specifically for them. It was the couple’s monogram with forever young written below. His lovely bride sported a Sareh Nouri gown with pearls, rhinestones, and lace.
Young and DeGarmo were surrounded by family and friends, including some Idol alums, such as Elliot Yamin, Michael Johns, and Kevin Covais. However, the attendance and role of one guest in particular made the wedding that much more special for the bride. E! News reports that DeGarmo’s brother, David, who had been deployed to Afghanistan, returned home to walk her down the aisle to her groom.
The married couple wrote their own vowels, and music writer Fred Bronson officiated the ceremony. Afterwards, the married couple walked back up the aisle to “All My Love” by Led Zeplin and danced to a song they recorded together, “I Do” for their first dance. Degarmo told People, “This was the best way to start the chapter of my life as Mrs. Young. "I'm over the moon with joy and happiness about our wonderful wedding. I can't wait to spend my life with my husband!"
