Amazon said today that it has reached a new, multi-year deal with Viacom, bringing more content from Nickelodeon, Comedy Central and MTV to Amazon Prime.

The internet retail giant said that the new deal will bring the total Viacom content available to 240 TV seasons with over 3,900 individual episodes to amazon Prime Instant Video. It comes over a year after Amazon’s initial deal with Viacom.

According to The Los Angeles Times, the deal is expected to be worth in the millions of dollars, but the two sides didn’t officially release the terms of the agreement. The cost of deals like these have increased as the competition between Hulu, Netflix, Amazon and other streaming services has grown more intense recently.

Amazon specifically pointed out that the deal will bring 55 percent more children’s content to the site, including Spongebob Squarepants, Dora the Explorer, iCarly and Blue’s Clues. That aspect is important, since as streaming becomes more widely accepted, more families will be using it.

This is another fact that Netflix has also figured out. The company signed a deal with DreamWorks Animation for an exclusive show called Turbo: F.A.S.T. Netflix also has a deal with Disney.

Amazon also greenlit four of its children's show pilots last week.
