America’s Got Talent is looking for the next big thing in New York City! Auditions continue in the big apple for talent that will advance to Las Vegas.
The first act were the Struck boys. They are a hip hop dance routine. They were about the ages of 7-10. Heidi called them 7 little Justin Beibers and loved their attitude. Mel said the commitment they dance with is phenomenal. These boys are Vegas bound. The next act are the Kristef Brothers. They are a hand balancing act. They are also very strong, good looking and very charismatic. Heidi automatically said yes even though they weren’t voting yet. Howie said it was creative and original, a twist to a circus act. They get four yeses and are sent to Vegas!
We start to get a couple of bad acts after these. One was a singing mime. It made no sense, they all gave her the X! The flood of bad auditions continued. With bad singing, a cat riding around in a car, then a couple came out in chicken customs. The judges were not happy.
Finally we hit something good and original. A dance crew named Hammerstep, combine Irish dance meets hip hop. This was very cool. The dancing, music, and steps were different. Weird, dark, intense, and mysterious said Mel B. Howard said their skill level is so high it’s impossible to ignore. New, surprising, and exciting Howie said. They are sent to Vegas. The mixture of unique dance routines after that, were amazing. A couple more dance crews and a magic show came about. They were all good and refreshing.
A whole bunch of kids auditions comes up. One particularly stood out. Brother and sister act, the ages of six and 9. Izzy and Isaiah are their names. She is the cutest thing ever wearing a polka dot dress and when she opens her mouth she screams the lyrics. It is hard metal. Mel B said, scary spice is officially scared. Heidi was confused. It’s a little unsettling but somehow everyone liked it. They are off to Vegas.
The Virginia State University Gospel chorale: There is about twenty of them. The singing is crazy good. It is Gospel music at its finest. It’s lively, upbeat, and just plain good. Howard said he thinks America will love them. Heidi loved them. Mel B called them brilliant and that she wanted to join them. They get four yeses!
On the second half of the episode, auditions heads to Hollywood. First act for the city of Angels is Chris Antes, he sculpts chewing gum. This is not good. No one can see it, it’s too small and just a big NO. Thankfully we were introduced to something a little better. A brother and sister band named Brandon and Savannah. They have a good tune and vib to them. Very lively and the audience seemed to enjoy it. They sang an original song, which can be very tricky. In this case it went well. Heidi loved the whole thing. Mel B didn’t like the song but liked the performance. Overall they did a solid job and were sent to Vegas.
Next act is Taylor and he is a standup comedian. He’s shy, and awkward but in a charming way. Mel B really liked him, she said he was strange looking and loves that about him. Howie loved him too. Howard thinks he is going to do very well. He gets four yeses! We will see him in Vegas.
Jacob Calle is a professional party stunt man. He uses a scorpion, and puts it in his mouth. It was gross and weird. He gets four no’s. It was not good.
Nathan he is a magician. They give a guy a second chance. His first audition was split. He was in a straight jacket and broke free. It was a little goofy, he was singing while doing this. He got 2 yeses and two no’s. They give him a second shot. He is thrown a deck of cards and he guesses the card. He convinces the judges and he is sent to Vegas.
This last act of the night is Forte. They are a trio singing group. They had never met in person until a few days before the audition. They are all from different parts of the world and have a dorky older look to them. They sang opera and they were jaw dropping good. Howie thought they were phenomenal. Howard called them fantastic singers, he likes that they look like regular guys. The whole audience loved them as well so they were sent straight to Vegas!
The auditions continue next week in the windy city, Chicago. America’s Got Talent Tuesday night’s on NBC.
