After a double mastectomy to prevent an 87 percent chance of breast cancer, Angelina Jolie has made her first appearance since the surgery.

According to E! News, Jolie appeared with Brad Pitt at the premiere of his film World War Z in a stunning black dress, showing her lovely shoulders.

NY Post reported that Jolie told reporters at the black-carpeted premiere that she was happy about the expanded discussion on women’s health. She also told them that she felt great.

Jolie spoke of her double mastectomy in an oped in The New York Times, revealing that she had a genetic mutation that increased her chances of getting breast cancer as well as ovarian cancer.

Her mother passed due to cancer after a decade-long struggle with the disease.

Jolie finished her three-month long surgery on April 27 and kept private about the surgeries in order to continue working.

She said in the oped, “My chances of developing breast cancer have dropped from 87 percent to under 5 percent. I can tell my children that they don’t need to fear they will lose me to breast cancer.”

Pitt has shown an undeniable amount of support, according to The Huffington Post, as she stood by his fiance’s side.

“I am fortunate to have a partner, Brad Pitt, who is so loving and supportive. So to anyone who has a wife or girlfriend going through this, know that you are a very important part of the transition,” she said of Pitt in her Times oped.
