After being sued by a Manhattan video game developer for $100 million, Beyoncé and her lawyers finally settled the feud on Friday.
Beyoncé pulled out of a deal involving an interactive game in December 2010 with Gate Five LLC, costing 70 people their jobs and causing the gaming company to lose out on millions of dollars, reports the Daily News.
In the case, Beyoncé’s lawyers claimed that she had the right to back out because Gate Five lost its financial backing and made a deal with new financers who would reduce her ownership and profits from the game. However, Gate Five pointed out the ‘last minute’ card, claiming that Beyoncé only wanted to make more money out of it and caused their company insidious harm.
The “Starpower: Beyoncé” dance game was to allow players to imitate the “Single Ladies” singer’s dance moves and be evaluated on their moves, including dance tips from Beyoncé.
The Manhattan Supreme Court website revealed that a deal has been established, but terms of said settlement are unknown, according to Belfast Telegraph.
