World traveler Brad Pitt continues to rack up the frequent flyer miles, returning from Europe for the World War Z London premiere there last weekend. Part of the promotion for the film must be Pitt making appearances at local theaters throughout the country, since he made not one, but two surprise stops on Thursday before screenings.

The first came in the morning in Atlanta, reports Just Jared. The appearance took place at the Regal Atlantic Station and the Oscar nominated actor began throwing t-shirts into the crowd as they screamed and took their phones out to get pictures.

But, Pitt wasn’t done surprising fans. He flew up the East Coast for another screening Thursday night in Philadelphia. According to MyFoxPhilly, Pitt promised the audience at the United Artists Theater in King of Prussia that the film will be “the most intense thing you'll see all summer.” He added that the cheesesteak “really is the perfect sandwich.”

Pitt did the same thing last month in Hoboken, New Jersey.

This type of personal interactions with fans might not be happening if the film wasn’t getting such bad press in Hollywood. While it was well known that the Paramount production’s budget went out of control, a Vanity Fair expose showed that the film’s problems included re-shooting the entire last act.

Pitt and Angelina Jolie attended the London premiere last weekend. Jolie’s appearance drew attention since it was her first since announcing that she had a double mastectomy.

World War Z hits theaters nationwide on June 21.
