Recently, Armie Hammer backed out of the cast for the thriller Cut Bank and actor Liam Hemsworth has stepped in. Hemsworth, known for his role as Ronnie’s boyfriend in The Last Song, a Nicholas Sparks film, and Gale in The Hunger Games, will take the lead as Dwayne McLaren. Cut Bank already had an amazing cast, which includes John Malkovich, Billy Bob Thornton, Teresa Palmer, Bruce Dern, Oliver Platt, and Michael Stuhlbarg, and the addition of Hemsworth will only enhance the movie.
According to Great Falls Tribune, Cut Bank is about a former high school football star, working as an auto mechanic, who is aching to get out of Cut Bank, MT. When he decides to move to the city with his girlfriend Cassandra, who will be played by Australian actress Teresa Palmer, but as he attempts to do so, disaster ensues and not his life, but the town, will be forever changed.
Yahoo! Movies reports that the script was written by Roberto Patino, known for Son’s of Anarchy, and the screenplay will be the first ever directed by Matt Shakman (Six Feet Under).
The Examiner notes that there will be open casting calls for the movie, which is to be filmed in Edmonton, Alberta this summer. No previous experience is required, so if you are looking for a chance to collaborate with an incredible cast, check it out! Regardless, the release of Cut Bank is one to look forward to in 2013 or early 2014.
