After days of speculation, Dan Harmon has confirmed via Twitter that he will return as showrunner on NBC's comedy series "Community."

In a message to fans on the social media site, Harmon tweeted "Yes yes yes! I'm back I'm back I'm back," according to The Guardian.

In the same message, Harmon told fans to thank Community's leading man Joel McHale for his return. Fellow Community cast member Gillian Jacobs also took to Twitter to offer her congratulations to Harmon.

While Harmon's tweet implied that his return was inevitable, reports from The Wrap said otherwise. While the production team behind "Community" is reportedly in talks to bring Harmon back, no official decisions are expected to be reached until next week.

Harmon was the original showrunner for the cult TV series publicly feuding with show star Chevy Chase. After Harmon reportedly attacked Chase at a party in front of his family, both Harmon and Chase left the show.

Upon his return, Harmon will replace David Guarascio and Moses Port as showrunner.
