Dave Franco explains co-star Zac Efron’s hand injury which he acquired on set of the movie Townies, due out next year.
Younger brother to James Franco and star of new movie Now You See Me explains that he and his co-star got a little too physical on set. “I beat the sh-t out of Zac Efron," he told Interview magazine. "No, no, it was a freak accident. It shouldn't have happened, but in the heat of the moment, he smashed his hand on the ground out of frustration during the scene, and he hit it the wrong way and fractured it, but it's totally fine now." The film is about a fraternity house and its affect on a local family in the neighborhood.
Dave also opened up about how he has tried to make a name for himself, separate from his famous older brother. "I made a conscious decision to distance myself from him work-wise. As much as I love him and respect him, I needed to stand on my own two feet," the younger Franco brother said. "I have noticed a difference, or at least a change. People are starting to give me credibility, and I don't think that's a coincidence. I'm trying to be as smart as I can. We may look and sound similar, but our personalities couldn't be more different.”
More good news for the rising star, his film Now You See Me earned $28 million this past weekend, surpassing expectations. According to Forbes, the film landed second place in the box office its opening weekend, beating out Will Smith’s new film After Earth.
