Each year animal rights organization PETA picks one male and female celeb to receive the honor of sexiest celebrity vegetarian. For 2013, fiancés Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard were chosen for the award. In 2012, the title was given to Woody Harrelson and Jessica Chastain and Russell Brand and Kristen Wiig accepted the year before.

So why didn't Shepard accept the flattering honor? In a tweet, the "Parenthood" star came clean and declined the title, writing "I'm really flattered to be named 'Sexiest Vegetarian' with @IMKristenBell, but sadly I can't accept in good conscience because I eat chicken."

PETA commended Shepard for his efforts after he tweeted, "I was vegan for a year, but that ended 6 months ago. I aspire to be more like @IMKristenBell, but I'm not there yet."

After the tweet the organization told Entertainment Weekly, “She sets a wonderful example of kindness to animals and healthy living to her countless fans, including Dax! We love Dax, and we’re glad to read that he’s aspiring to be more like Kristen." They also state that they are sending recipes and vegetarian stater kits to the couple to help in their animal-friendly eating habits.

The happy couple known for their charitable and modest way are not only loyal to the animal community. According to Yahoo, the actors have been engaged since 2009 but held off on tying the knot until all types of couples were given the right. After DOMA was stuck down Wednesday, the Veronica Mars star tweeted to her fiancé "@daxshepard1 will you marry me? Xo #marriageequality #loveislove."
