Fashion powerhouse Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, better known as the brand, Dolce & Gabbana, have been sentenced to one year and eight months in prison for tax evasion.

The AFP reports that Dolce & Gabbana have been convicted of tax evasion of $268 million (200 million euros) after the brand was accused of transferring their brand to a company in Luxembourg in order to avoid paying taxes in Italy. The transfer occurred in 2004 and 2005.

The men were previously accused of tax evasion, but the charges were thrown out only to be brought on once again.

Dolce & Gabanna are also ordered to pay around $670,000 to Milan.

Prosecutor Laura Pedio argued in the trial that there was “rock solid proof” that Dolce & Gabbana had committed “sophisticated tax evasion.” A lawyer for the men notes that they plan to appeal the verdict and therefore suspension of their jail sentence has occurred until then.

According to Reuters, while a spokesman for the pair have not released a statement, the men are denying the charges.
