Rapper Fat Joe has been sentenced to four months in prison on tax evasion charges for failing to file his taxes on more than $3.3 million worth of income. He has also been ordered to pay a $15,000 fine for the crime.

The rapper, real name Joseph Cartagena, was facing up to 2 years in federal prison when he plead guilty to the charges in December. He was given a break by the judge for paying back $718,000 and for his charity work.

According to Rolling Stone, Cartagena agreed to a plea bargain, which saw the judge reducing his charges of failure to file tax returns from 2007 to 2010 to only two years.

The Terror Squad rapper has said of the situation, “There was a lot going on in the years that I didn't file my taxes, but it was my responsibility.”

TMZ reports Cartagena is ordered to report to prison by August 26. When he gets out, he will have to be supervised for a year.
