Elizabeth Taylor is heading back to the small screen in another made-for-TV movie, but hopefully this time the acting will be much better. With Helena Bonham Carter and Dominic West attached to the project, there’s high expectations that BBC America’s Burton and Taylor will be better than Lifetime’s trashed Liz and Dick.

BBC America posted the first image to promote the film, which was announced back in February. West and Carter are pictured in full make-up, designed to look like the two world famous stars during the early 1980s. The film is set in 1983, when the two tried to perform Noel Coward’s Private Lives on Broadway and the production was under heavy media scrutiny, especially since it was some years after their second divorce.

Burton and Taylor is being produced by BBC Drama Productions and is set to air on BBC America this fall, notes USA Today.

The film follows the much hyped airing of Lifetime’s Liz and Dick, which featured Lindsay Lohan and Grant Bowler in the title roles. While that project was criticized for its acting, it makes sense to expect better from Carter and West.

Carter was nominated for an Oscar for The King’s Speech, while West is best known for his role on The Wire.
