Glee star Matthew Morrison has popped the question to girlfriend Renee Puente and she accepted. His good friends Elton John and David Furnish announced the happy news on stage at the White Tie and Tiara Ball in London on Thursday evening.
Coldplay frontman Chris Martin then joined John on stage for a duet of “Your Song,” which they dedicated to the newly-engaged couple, who have been dating for two years.
"They are thrilled. It is the first marriage for them both. He loves her so much. The theme of the night was love, which is so appropriate," a source told E! News.
Morrison is in England promoting his new album Where It All Began. He tweeted this morning “An incredible night of LOVE @ejaf Ball. I'm going to marry my best friend! Happy day for me and @Renee_Puente.”
People reports Morrison and Puente, who is a model, have been linked since 2011. She showed off her huge engagement ring at the event on Thursday.
