The first photo of British actress Helena Bonham Carter as Elizabeth Taylor in the BBC’s new biopic, Burton and Taylor .

Carter joins The Wire actor Dominic West in a made-for-television movie about Taylor’s life with husband number five and six, Richard Burton. The BBC production will focus on the couples work together in the 1983 theatrical production Private Lives , The New York Daily News reports.

The 47-year-old actress is known in the United States for her performances in the Harry Potter franchise, as well as Les Miserables , The King’s Speech , and Fight Club . Carter often stars in her partner Tim Burton’s films, appearing alongside fellow Burton regular Johnny Depp.

Lindsay Lohan (in)famously portrayed the violet-eyed beauty in Lifetime’s Liz & Dick which aired November 2012. Though the role was rumored to be Lohan’s “comeback,” critics and viewers did not respond well, calling the troubled starlet, “completely miscast.”

According to People Magazine , viewers took to the Twitter universe to express their dissatisfaction with Lohan’s performance, and the film as a whole, with comments including, “Lindsay Lohan had a better British accent in the parent trap and that is not a joke,” and “Lifetime should go ahead and just change there motto to, ‘Your Life. Your Time. We're Sorry.’ #lizanddick.”

Hopefully Carter’s performance won’t disappoint. Burton and Taylor airs on the BBC this fall.
