Henry Cavill has reached over night success with his latest film "Man of Steel". In an interview with Peter Travers, Cavill explains that finding and getting movie roles wasn’t easy.

Cavill went for the James Bond movie that went to Daniel Craig and “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire” for the role of Cedric that went to Robert Pattinson. Despite not getting the role of James Bond Cavill doesn’t hold any hard feelings towards the situation. According to ABCNews, in the interview with Travers, Cavill said “Daniel Craig was absolutely nailed that role and best man for the job. I don’t care if I don’t get the job if the best guy for the job gets it.”

Cavill also says in the interview that we never got a script, offer or auditioned for “Twilight” but from his understanding author Stephanie Meyers wanted him for the role of Edward.

Cavill talks about being teased as a kid for being chubby and being given the nickname growing up ‘Fat Cavill’, which he blames on eating too much chips and not being active enough. Growing up he started losing the fat but not completely. He then landed the role in “The Count of Monte Cristo” and they told his mom that he needed to lose weight. It affected Cavill and he went on a strict diet and lost 14 pounds. Cavil didn’t get in shape till his role in “Immortals.” He jokes in the interview saying, “It was essential, I don’t think I had my top on much on the movie at all.”

In the interview Cavill gives insight to his portrayal of the legendary and iconic superhero, Superman. He explains his perspective of the character, and you see how the role was fitting for Cavill. He also missed the call from director Zach Snyder as he played “World of Warcraft,” the popular online game. Cavill was so distracted by the game that he ignored the ringing.

Cavill said, “I looked down at the last minute and I see its Zach Snyder and I dive for phone. I was like, ‘forget you guys, I’m going for Zach!” After playing phone tag, Snyder returned Cavill’s call and offered him the role.

With the well deserved success of “Man of Steel” rumors have been circulating with Cavill being linked to the highly anticipated release of the Fifty Shades Of Grey movie. Fans have already made him one of the ‘top choices’ along with Matt Bomer and Ian Somerhalder with the fan made trailers on YouTube.com.

However nothing has been released yet on who will be on the cast, according to Examiner.com, EL James favors Cavill for the role. Cavill was asked in an interview about playing the part of Christian Grey he said, “Would be a very different thing [than Superman].”

It isn’t known where the initial rumors of Cavill being considered by EL James for the Christian Grey casting role came from, but Cavill and his agents have confirmed him being in talks for the “Fifty Shades Of Grey” film is untrue. There is still a chance that he could be considered for the part.

The role of Superman was a perfect match of Cavill. With talks of a sequel already in the works shows that there is much more to come for this amazing actor. Cavill is already fit for the role with the rock hard abs, irresistible charm and smoldering eyes. Is he who you envisioned while reading Fifty Shades of Grey?
