Ann, the one-woman show about the late Texas Governor Ann Richards starring Holland Taylor, will close on Broadway earlier than planned.

According to The New York Times, the final performance at Lincoln Center’s Vivian Beaumont Theater is scheduled for June 30. Producers Bob Boyett and Harriet Newman Leve had originally slated it to continue until Sept. 1, but weekly grosses never exceeded $400,000. Taylor also performed in front of a half-empty theater during recent weeks.

Ann was a passion project for Taylor, who worked on it for over five years, reports Variety. It was directed by Benjamin Endsley Klein and first performed in Galveston, Texas in 2010. Taylor also performed in Chicago and at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC.

Taylor earned a Tony nomination for the show, but Cicely Tyson of The Trip to Bountiful won for lead actress in a play on Sunday.

Taylor, who will return to Two and a Half Men in the fall, will have performed 19 previews and 132 regular shows when Ann closes. The producers said that there may be further performances elsewhere, but released no other details.
