Hollywood is still mourning the shocking death of James Gandolfini, who died Wednesday at just 51-years-old from an apparent heart attack while vacationing in Rome. Now, just hours after his death, we are learning more about his final moments.

Gandolfini died on Wednesday while in Italy. According to TMZ, the trip was a father-son vacation, giving Gandolfini time to spend with his teenage son Michael. He had just graduated from 8th grade and Gandolfini planned to take him to the Taormina Film Festival in Sicily. Deadline reports that the festival is already planning a tribute for the actor.

NBC News is reporting that Michael was in the room at the Hotel Boscolo in Rome. He called for help and hotel staff rushed up to the room. They found him on the bathroom floor, hotel owner Antonio D'amore said. Gandolfini was found at 10 p.m. local time (4 p.m. ET).

When she received word about her husband, Marcy Wudarski rushed to Italy to be with Michael on Wednesday.

Gandolfini is best known for his role as Tony Soprano on HBO’s The Sopranos. “He was a genius,” show creator David Chase said in a statement. “Anyone who saw him even in the smallest of his performances knows that. He is one of the greatest actors of this or any time.”

HBO added that, “We're all in shock and feeling immeasurable sadness at the loss of a beloved member of our family.”

We’ve put together a list of celebrity tributes from Twitter.
