Saks Fifth Avenue and the Entertainment Industry Foundation (EIF) are proud to announce Jennifer Aniston, long-time supporter of cancer causes, as the spokesperson for their 2013 Key to the Cure campaign. This year marks the 15th annual campaign, and it will raise funds for EIF's Women's Cancer Research Fund by selling a limited edition Emilio Pucci T-shirt, in addition to holding a charity shopping weekend.

Omg! Yahoo! reports that Aniston said, “I'm so honored to join the Entertainment Industry Foundation and Saks Fifth Avenue in their continued efforts to raise funds for promising scientific research through EIF's Women's Cancer Research Fund. My hope is that everyone will contribute to this worthy cause by purchasing a Key to the Cure T-shirt designed by Emilio Pucci.”

The t-shirt was designed by Peter Dundas of Emilio Pucci, and will be sold for $35 at Saks Fifth Avenue stores, Saks Fifth Avenue Off 5th stores, and online at saks.com beginning October 1. Saks Fifth Avenue is an upscale department store whose headquarters are located in Midtown Manhattan. All of the proceeds from each shirt will be donated to EIF's Women's Cancer Research Fund, which will benefit programs dedicated to discovering new detection methods, improved treatments, and hopefully, one day, a cure for women’s cancers. As the spokesperson, Aniston will appear on public service announcements and print ads sporting the tee starting in September. Omg! Yahoo! writes that some of the organizations that have benefitted from the campaign in previous years include The Breast Cancer Research Foundation, EIF's Women's Cancer Research Fund, Cleveland Clinic, Boston's Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, and the Nevada Cancer Institute.

According to The Inquisitr, EIF and Saks Fifth Avenue have raised over $33 million in the past 14 years of the campaign. Aniston has expressed her honor for being selected and enthusiasm to participate in such an admirable cause. Along with her, Peter Dundas, designer of the limited edition tee, has commended EIF and Saks Fifth Avenue for their work. He said, “I am proud for Emilio Pucci to be part of such an important initiative with Saks Fifth Avenue. I think every living person has been touched by this disease through the illness or even loss of a friend or a family member. I have. It would seem that in 2013 this would no longer be a worry, but it very much is and so the fight continues.”

The charity shopping weekend will be held Thursday October 17 through Sunday 20, at all Saks Fifth Avenue stores, Saks Fifth Avenue Off 5th stores, and on saks.com. Sales up to $500,000 will be donated to EIF, which will then be distributed to charitable cancer-research programs. So, look for the t-shirt advertisements in September and remember to purchase yours in October.
