Just because an actress is linked to what could be a great role in the press, doesn’t mean that they’ve actually been approached to do it. In response to a report last week that went viral, actress Jessica Chastain said that she didn’t know anything about a Hillary Clinton movie, although she definitely likes the former Secretary of State.

Last week, a report from the UK linked Chastain, Reese Witherspoon, Scarlett Johansson and Amanda Seyfried to Rodham, a film in the works about Clinton’s career in the 1970s. Director James Ponsoldt called them “all wonderful actresses” and said that they have shown interest.

E! News caught up with Chastain at Gucci's Chime for Change: Sound of Change Live in London this weekend and asked about the report. She said that it really didn’t mean that any of them had even seen a script or heard about the project before.

“You know what happens?” the Zero Dark Thirty star said. “They just say these are the people we're considering asking. It doesn't mean anything. It doesn't mean any of us have read the script, any of us have heard of the project.”

Chastain said that she is a fan of Clinton, though. “She was foxy in the '70s. Have you seen the pictures where she showed her little midriff? I saw a picture of her in shorts. I love Hillary!”

Chastain just finished work on Liv Ullmann’s Miss Julie and The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby. Among her future projects in Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar and Guillermo Del Toro’s Crimson Peak.

As for Rodham, the film is aimed for a 2016 release, wich would coincide with the next presidential election.
