The Office launched the career of actor John Krasinski, and now that the show is over, he’s really missing that part of his life. During an appearance hosting a fundraiser at the Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center on Wednesday, Krasinski opened up about closing that chapter.
The actor told The AP that it was “hard” to say goodbye.
“It's hard ... to not only let go of a show like that and a character like that, but to me — you know, I got the job when I was 23 years old," he said. "It's an era of my life that I'm missing now."
While he says he is open to do another television show, his next project will be a role in the upcoming Pixar film Monsters University. He also just co-wrote and starred in Promised Land with Matt Damon.
Krasinski says the industry "has changed so much and there's so many different avenues you can go down, whether it is TV, film or now there's Internet content. There's all sorts of fun stuff to be part of," adding, "When you get to have control over what you do and who you are doing it with, it makes it the most fun, so I'll just keep doing that."
The series finale of The Office took place on May 16 after nine seasons.
