Justin Bieber is set to be one of the youngest people to breach the final frontier as the pop star has bought two tickets for himself and manager Scooter Braun to board the Virgin Galactic spacecraft.
Previously, we reported on the Virgin Galactic project which was founded by business tycoon Richard Branson. It is the first ever commercial tourist craft and will allow anyone with $200,000 a chance to experience suborbital flight.
Many celebrities such as Ashton Kutcher, Tom Cruise, Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have already signed on.
Now it seems that two more big names have made it on the waiting list.
The news of Bieber and Braun’s trip to space was revealed on Twitter by Branson himself who wrote: “Great to hear @justinbieber & @scooterbraun are latest @virgingalactic future astronauts. Congrats, see you up there!”
Both Bieber and Braun were excited about their impending trip to space.
The 19-year-old singer wrote, “Let’s shoot a music video in SPACE!! #nextLEVEL” while his manager wrote, “I’m going to space momma!!”
Bieber has expressed an interest in space travel once before, Yahoo! reports.
Earlier this year, he tweeted about wanting to do a concert in space.
Bieber’s comment caught the attention of NASA, who responded: “Maybe we can help you with that. ‘All Around the World,’ next off it?”
A prophetic statement indeed, although it is yet unclear when Bieber will be boarding the Virgin Galactic since there are over 500 amateur astronauts ahead of him on the list.
