Days after the birth of the their daughter, North West, Kanye West proposed to girlfriend Kim Kardashian.
Following a highly publicized pregnancy and giving birth to their daughter on June 15 at Los Angeles' Cedar Sinai Hospital, the rapper reportedly popped the question to the 36-year-old reality star. According to The Sun, Kardashian accepted, and the two plan on marrying in September in Paris.
Although he didn't give his new fiancee an engagement ring when he proposed, according to reports from New Musical Express, West offered Kardashian a "push present" in the form of a $770,000 black and tiger-stripe diamond ring that he had designed months ago.
After weeks of media attention surrounding Kim's pregnancy, the birth of the duo's daughter left people all around the world on the edge of their seats until her name was announced.
Baby name expert Laura Wattenberg told The Independent that the name North West was "a very unusual name."
"Direction names are uncommon and they’re almost exclusively chosen for boys," Wattenberg said. "In general, despite what we think, celebrities don’t choose strange names any more than the general public. It’s actually very close statistically. But this is a mother whose career has been about getting attention in any way possible.”
It seems the good news just keeps coming for these two. Congratulations, Kimye!
