Rumors surfaced this week that model Kate Upton and former Dancing with the Stars pro Maksim Chmerkovskiy were a new couple. However, sources close to the duo say that they’re only good friends.
Sources told Us Weekly that Upton and Chmerkovskiy were a new couple and that they’re keeping it low key for now.
“They were set up through friends. They just started dating,” a source said.
However, another source told E! Online they have "heard nothing about them dating."
Rumors were started after they had dinner together at Scalinatella in New York City, but employees say their outing did “not look intimate at all."
The Sports Illustrated model has been linked to baseball player Justin Verlander in the past, although she denies it, and Chmerkovskiy has previously been engaged to fellow DWTS pro Karina Smirnoff.
Upton is currently shooting her feature role in The Other Woman with Cameron Diaz and Leslie Mann. She has made cameos in Tower Heist (2011) and The Three Stooges (2012).
