Khloe Kardashian Odom is taking credit for inspiring Kim Kardashian to start a relationship with rapper Kanye West.
The youngest of the Kardashian sisters opened up about the start of the power couple’s relationship on The Talk today (June 7). Though Khloe vocally expressed dislike for Kardashian’s now-ex-husband Kris Humphries, it seems she was a long-time supporter of the Kimye union.
"We’ve known Kanye since 2006 or 2007," Khloe explained, as reported by Us Magazine . "And he’s always been into [Kim] and loved her. He just always was so obsessed with her -- in a good way. And I just thought that was so cute, and she was like, 'No we’re just friends or whatever.' And I just was like, 'I think that you two are so similar with fashion or whatever you guys are both into.' And so I said 'Just give him a shot.'”
Khloe said that despite her encouragement, sister Kim has adopted the idea as her own. She continues, "And then one day -- I don’t know what happened, she [Kim] acts like it was her idea, like I never said it, 'Wait, I think I really like Kanye.' And I was like 'Hello! I’ve been telling you for years!"
Khloe has been in the spotlight lately for her comments on her mother and stepfather’s living arrangements, Kim’s pregnancy, and her own struggles to conceive. Despite all of the on (and off) air drama, Khloe says she feels “blessed” with or without the flashbulbs and fans, The Kansas City Star reports.
"Once you start living in (that fame world), you can start believing it, and it's just so bad for you,” Khloe said, while explaining why she doesn’t receive Google alerts. “That's not the real world. All of this one day will go away no matter who you are, and I need to be OK with who I am as myself and this doesn't make or break me. This is wonderful and I love this ride but I'm also so blessed without it as well."
Khloe is currently promoting the current season of her reality television show, Keeping Up with the Kardashians , which is in its eighth season. To view a clip from the June 9 episode, see the video below.
