LeAnn Rimes and husband Eddie Cibrian have opted to put their relationship in front of a camera on the idea that “People have been laughing at us – we want them to laugh with us!”

According to New York Daily News, the singer/actress tells People, “We're doing a TV show based on our reality. We'll take things out of our lives and elaborate them and make them funny. People have been laughing at us – we want them to laugh with us!"

Rimes and Cibrian's relationship has been a subject of media scrutiny after the couple engaged in a highly publicized affair during their 2009 film Northern Lights. Both Cibrian and Rimes were married at the time. Cibrian's ex Brandi Glanville has consistently made Rimes the subject of her Twitter bashes, slamming the actress' looks, personality and antics.

“For some reason, everyone is so interested in our lives but they don’t actually know about them,” Rimes notes. “What they read is what they see. We want to be able to take control of our lives again so we want to do a show about us, about our lives, but scripted.”

Daily News notes that scripted series has not yet been picked up by a network and it does not have a title as of yet.
