In the immediate aftermath of Miguel’s poorly timed leap during the Billboard Music Awards last month, it seemed like this would just go away especially since he posed with the fan whose head he nearly took off and she was all smiles with him. But he’s now facing a lawsuit and the victim is reportedly suffering from brain damage. A new report suggests that he was actually told by producers not to jump.
According to TMZ, sources say that producers told the singer not to jump because it would be too dangerous after he asked if he could do it. When the show started though, Miguel ignored their directions and everything they feared came true.
Miguel landed with his legs wrapped around the head of one fan, and his foot hit the face of another while he sang “Adorn.”
A week after the incident, Khyati Shah - the victim who was pictured with Miguel after the show and given an ice pack - is set to file a lawsuit. Her lawyer told TMZ this week that she has suffered brain damage and that the ice pack was not enough treatment.
“Some of the difficulties she's experiencing are cognitive in nature and lead to suspicion of a neurological head injury,” lawyer Vip Bhola told TMZ.
Miguel hasn’t commented on the recent developments.
